Upgraded Touchscreen Portable Printer

This is a portable thermal printer, with a 2 inch LCD touchscreen. Setup is pretty straightforward (except for a language issue, I'll explain in next paragraph), remove the protective sheet, install a roll of paper (3 rolls included), and power it on. The mobile app doesn't require any special permissions or your email, just bluetooth.I had one small issue, the printer screen defaults to chinese, and there's no instructions for changing that to english. It's a 4 step process (see photo). The steps are: 1. press the bottom right icon, 2. press the gear (settings) icon, 3. press the top option which is "language", and 4. select your desired language.I tested this printer with some documents for work, including 2 photographs. When printing pictures, for better results, in the app, at the ready to print page, press "Layout style" under print effects, and select 'original', not 'text enhancement'. This gives much more detail. For standard 8.5" x 11" paper, select letter, not A4, (A4 is 8.27 x 11.69"). This printer has a slot for loading a roll of paper, which is very convenient, since you don't have to load each sheet by hand. They include 3 rolls of paper, with each roll containing about 26 sheets. There's a serrated metal cutting edge on the printer, which helps when using these un-cut rolls of paper. It's not easy to get a perfectly straight cut, I was only able to get 1/5 professional looking cuts, so now I print one page at a time, score it using the serrated edge, open the case, and use scissors. The printer will also accept folded and single-sheet thermal paper. You can even print standard 4 inch shipping labels. It can't print 12 x 40mm labels, unfortunately.In conclusion, this is a fantastic printer. The touchscreen tells you real time status for: battery level, paper, bluetooth connection, calibration, and in easy to understand words, not just one or two flashing lights like other printers. I've been using Phomemo thermal printers since 2023. Starting with the D30 label maker, and this is my 4th. The app, and printers all work very well. Is having a built-in screen worth paying extra? Yes, but you can do most of it from the app.

Nice portable slow but for the price good deal

This thing is awesome, the type of technology we dreamed of back when I was in school! You can print black and white full sized pages in maybe 20 seconds flat, without any or wall power! You can take a document from your PC or your phone, edit it on the go, and immediately begin printing that document in high quality all while only consuming a piece from the roll of thermal paper stored internally. That's some high-tech stuff!Despite the impressive value and usability that things brings to the table for students or business work, I also found one staple feature that I use it for constantly: Shipping labels! It can print shipping labels just fine in the standard 4x6 size or bigger. If you are a mobile business this would be a phenomenal addition to your arsenal. You could print a quote, an invoice, any kind of business document and have the versatility to print out a shipping label all while you're on the go! Having infinite ink is awesome, the design is tiny and easily would fit in a backpack of laptop bag.The application guides you through setup but realistically all you do is insert the roll of paper and begin feeding it, super easy to setup and get started.Overall: This is a game changer for certain applications! I will be using it regularly to print out invoices on the go and shipping labels when I am out of the house. The versatility is incredible and the fact that I don't need ink is awesome.

I was skeptical, I’ve used portable printers in the past. They have always been a pain to set up and were hit or miss on connecting to actually print.I opened the box a found a nice, sturdy zippered case. Inside this case I found the printer tucked snugly away, along with USB cord for charging and connecting to a laptop, instructions and 3 full rolls of paper; 2 rolls in the lid of the case and one roll already installed. The printer came with a full charge on the battery. The instructions were clear and easy to follow though I really didn’t need them except for the bar code to download the app from the Apple Store. Which the app is free but there is a pay option for some other benefits if you want them. The free version is not crippled in anyway at all.I powered the printer on and it came to life, no hesitation. My phone found and connected immediately without any assistance from me. The roll of thermal paper inside the printer was very easy to load. I grabbed a recent photo of my new grandson and sent it to print. In about a minute I had a printed black and white, crystal clear, 8 x 10 photo of my grandson. Yep the printer prints full width of 8.5”.All I can say is, I’m impressed!!! This little thing just works! No fuss, no cussing, ranting or throwing things. I honestly could not be more pleased! The printer uses thermal paper, so no traditional print head to worry about. From what I’ve found online, the rolls of paper typically last 30-80 pages depending on usage. Which may not seem like a lot but considering the size of the printer, it is portable, I’d say that’s a fair amount of pages. Replacement rolls are available on Amazon, 4 rolls for $19.99, so about 5 bucks a roll, not bad. There are also individual sheets if you prefer, 100 sheets for $25.If you travel and find that you need to print while on the road or local coffee shop this is the way to go! I highly recommend the Phomemo M832D Portable Thermal Printer.
